RATNA APPNENDER

Ratna Appnender is a graduate of NLS, Bangalore. She litigates primarily in trial courts in Delhi and also practices in the appellate courts. She has over 8 years of experience in the field of criminal law, human rights and gender justice. She has worked with legal teams to represent victims of sexual violence, gender-based crimes and human rights violations by the State. Her areas of work  include legal research and writing on these issues.  She also provides guidance on the law and best practices on redressal mechanisms and evolving jurisprudence in relation to sexual harassment of women at the workplace. 

NINAD LAUD

Mr. Ninad Laud is a Counsel practicing at the Supreme Court of India. He read law at the V.M. Salgaocar College of Law in Goa. He was admitted to the bar in 2006 and read in the Chambers of Senior Counsel Mukul Rohatgi, (former Attorney General for India) for over 7 years, before starting his independent practice in 2014. Mr. Laud’s primary practice is at the Supreme Court, but he also regularly appears at the National Green Tribunal, National Company Law Appellate Tribunal and the PMLA Appellate Tribunal. His core areas of practice are constitutional law, mining, environment, insolvency and white-collar crime. He has been involved in prominent constitutional cases including the Shreya Singhal PIL challenging Sec. 66A of the Information Technology Act, the challenge to the NJAC, as well as the cases arising from the Enrica Lexie incident which led to a reference to the Permanent Court of Arbitration for a dispute between the Republic of Italy and India, under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. The work at his Chambers offers significant exposure to constitutional and commercial litigation at the Supreme Court.

MANISHA T. KARIA

Manisha T. Karia (Deshmukh) is an Advocate-on-Record practicing before the Supreme Court of India. She started her practice in 2000 with a law- firm in Mumbai and gained experience in corporate commercial transaction and litigation before High Court of Bombay, direct and indirect tax, Intellectual Property Rights management and litigation, Arbitration, etc. In April 2004, she shifted her base to New Delhi and began her independent litigation practice. She specialises in corporate-commercial disputes, service law, labour law, property law, taxation, consumer, insurance, insolvency proceedings and education matters and has been successfully handling matters before the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court and other forums such as National Company Law Tribunal and Appellate Tribunal, Competition Commission of India and National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission. She has been appointed as sole Arbitrator and Mediator and is a trained mediator. She has been representing multi-national and Indian companies, public sector undertakings, statutory bodies, governments and private individual clients and has a number of reported judgments to her credit. Ms. Karia is the co-author of the book “Electronic Evidence” published by Lexis-Nexis Butterworth recently contributed a chapter in the book “Conciliation and Mediation in India” published by Wolters Kluwer. She regularly writes in the legal magazine, FLAIR published by All India Reporter, and on legal portals including LiveLaw and Bar & Bench. She She has been invited for giving training at National Judicial Academy, Bhopal and ICAI, and has been part of the legal sub-committee of AWBI and has also conducted trainings for Animal Welfare officers. 

ANUPAM SRIVASTAVA

Anupam Srivastava, an alumnus of Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, is the Managing Partner of TCL, and has been in practice since the year 1991. He is a civil lawyer with expertise in the laws relating to property, commercial transactions, personal laws and defamation. His area of practice has largely been Courts in Delhi, wherein several of his judgements have been reported.  He is currently holding the office of Additional Standing Counsel for the Government of NCT of Delhi. On the corporate side, he advises clients on real estate transactions in setting up power plants and creation of equitable security. 

Besides being a keen litigator, he has an academic side as well and has authored/edited the following books: Mulla’s Code of Civil Procedure 16th edition (2002); Legal Ways of Money Recovery - A Handbook (2004); A Handbook on Real Estate Investment - A legal perspective (2007, 2011); Code of Civil Procedure 1908 (2010);  Guide to Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (2014). These books have been published by reputed law publishers, Lexis Nexis, Manupatra and Wolters Kluwer.

ANUBHA RASTOGI

Anubha Rastogi is a litigating lawyer for the past 18 years. Originally from Mumbai, she studied law from Law Centre 1, Faculty of Law, DU and started her practice with The Chambers of Law under Adv. Anupam Srivastava. She then worked with the Women's Justice Initiative of the HRLN. She has also worked closely with a global software company to ensure that the workplace was free from sexual harassment and discrimination. Further, Ms. Rastogi has worked with the Centre for Equity Studies and was part of a legal audit done of the state response in 7 specific post-partition communal massacres in India. She has also led the team representing the Dalit community in the Mirchpur Trial. She is actively involved in issues of sexual and reproductive health and rights and has authored 'Assessing the Judiciary's role in access to abortion in India part I and II'. She is currently based in Mumbai and is also a Special Prosecutor for SEBI.

GAUTAM NARAYAN

Gautam Narayan has been practicing in Delhi since 2001. He is an alumnus of the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi and an Advocate of Record in the Supreme Court. In 2015, he was appointed as an Additional Standing Counsel for the Government of NCT of Delhi before the Delhi High Court. In 2020, he was also appointed as a Standing Counsel for the State of Chhattisgarh before the Supreme Court and as Special Public Prosecutor for the National Investigation Agency. He is the Standing Counsel of the Delhi High Court in the Supreme Court and the High Court and appears for the Madras High Court before the Supreme Court. Mr. Narayan has been on the legal aid panel of the Supreme Court since 2010 and has also been appointed as amicus curiae by the High Court of Delhi in several cases. His core area of practice is civil litigation and a mixed bag of public law and commercial cases.

VRINDA BHANDARI

Vrinda Bhandari is a Delhi-based lawyer who practices before the trial courts, Delhi High Court, and the Supreme Court. She is a graduate from NLS Bangalore, and has a double Masters in Law (BCL) and a Masters in Public Policy (MPP) at the University of Oxford, U.K. Vrinda's practice is primarily focused on public law and civil litigation. She also serves as the Of-Counsel to the Internet Freedom Foundation on digital rights litigation, and has an independent advisory, research, and policy practice on digital rights, privacy, and technology issues.

SUHRITH PARTHASARATHY

Suhrith Parthasarathy is an advocate practicing at the Madras High Court. He is a graduate in law from the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata, and in journalism from Columbia University, New York. Suhrith’s practice is primarily focused on public law, taxation, and civil litigation. He is also a regular contributor to the op-ed pages of The Hindu newspaper.

VISHWAJITH SADANANDA

Vishwajith Sadananda is a Bengaluru-based lawyer who practices before tribunals, trial courts as well as the Karnataka High Court. He is an alumnus of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad and the University of Michigan Law School, USA. Vishwajith’s practice is primarily focused on public law, civil and commercial litigation.

NANDITA RAO 

Nandita Rao completed her LL.B. from Symbiosis Societies Law College ( Pune University) & LLM from SOAS London Univeristy. She has been practicing on both the criminal and civil side at the Delhi High Court and Trial Courts. She has been the Additional Standing Counsel (Criminal), Govt of NCT, Delhi since 2015 and has served on the DHLS authority from 2010 to 2015. She has a strong commitment to legal aid and law as an instrument to social engineering and empowerment. 

THULASI K. RAJ

Thulasi K. Raj is a lawyer at the Supreme Court of India and Kerala High Court. She practises in constitutional and administrative law, with a special focus on fundamental rights. She appeared (jointly) for the petitioner in Joseph Shine v. Union of India before the Supreme Court in which the court held criminalising adultery to be unconstitutional.

She is also an Equality Fellow at the Centre for Law & Policy Research, Bangalore. She completed a Masters in Law from University College London. Earlier, she was a Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Law and Philosophy, Rutgers University (2020) and an Equality Fellow at Melbourne Law School (2019). She frequently writes newspaper articles on relevant socio-legal issues.

WARISHA FARASAT

Warisha Farasat is a Delhi based lawyer who practices at the trial and appellate courts. Her areas of focus include Constitutional Law, Criminal and Civil Litigation. She is an alumnus of the National Law School, Bangalore and Columbia University, New York.  Along with Pritha Jha, she has co-authored the book "Splintered Justice: Living the Horror of Mass Communal Violence in Bhagalpur and Gujaraat" 

SRISHTI AGNIHOTRI 

Srishti Agnihotri is an Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India. Her primary areas of practice include environmental law, constitutional and human rights law. She is also involved in research and advocacy on women's rights and child rights. She completed her Masters in International Human Rights Law from the University of Notre Dame, USA.  

NIHALSING RATHOD

Nihalsing Rathod is a Nagpur based lawyer, mainly practicing Criminal and Constitutional Law. His practice is linked closely with people's movements and an Ambedkarite ideology. He has represented Surendra Gadling in the Bhima Koregaon case, the parents of Dr. Payal Tadvi, and he was the briefing counsel in the Romila Thapar case. He was successful in obtaining compensation for the families of three nomadic tribe youths who were lynched to death after being denied police protection. He was also part of the team of lawyers posted at Hyderabad Central University providing legal aid to students protesting the death of a scholar due to caste discrimination on campus. He worked with Soni Sori, Lingaram Kodopi and others in a fact-finding team that investigated the extra-judicial killings of 20 persons in Bastar, Dantewada and Jagdalpur in Chattisgarh. 


SHADAN FARASAT 

Shadan Farasat is an Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India. Mr. Farasat has completed his B.A. LLB (Hons.) from National Law School of India University and his Master of Laws (LLM) from Harvard Law School in 2009. Mr. Farasat has notably represented the Bhartiya Muslim Mahila Andolan (BMMA) in Shayara Bano vs Union of India or the Triple Talaq case. Mr. Farasat has also appeared on behalf of  challenging the illegal detentions made in Kashmir. More recently, he appeared on behalf of three students from Jamia Milia Islamia against the Sudarshan TV news programme titled "UPSC Jihad." 

SHOEB ALAM 

Shoeb Alam is an Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India. He completed his LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi in  2003 and began his practice as an Associate in the Chambers of Adv. Aryan Trivedi. He has been appointed as the Standing Counsel for the State of Bihar and later for the State of Jammu and Kashmir. More recently,  he appeared before the Supreme Court on behalf of Justice For Liberty initiative, and successfully argued for the release of detainees from Detention Centres in Assam on account of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

SHASHANK SINGH

Shashank Singh is an Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India. He has been a practicing lawyer for around a decade. He has also been involved in work on disability rights and social action lawyering. Shashank pursued his B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow.

ANAS TANWIR 

Anas Tanwir is an Advocate-on-record for the Supreme Court of India and founder-director of Indian Civil Liberties Union.

 

He is known to take up social justice causes and pro bono litigation. Among his leading cases are the cases pertaining to lynching, NRC, Minority education, food security etc.

 

He also does commercial litigation and Arbitrations.

ANKIT YADAV 

Ankit Yadav is a practising Advocate on Record at the Supreme Court of India. He received his B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University in the year 2012. After graduating from RMLNLU, he received an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from New York University School of Law in the year 2012. Ankit is currently handling litigation primarily before the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court. He also acts as an arbitration counsel or arbitrator in various international and domestic arbitrations.


SUNIL FERNANDES 

Sunil Fernandes is an Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court. He has served as the Standing Counsel for the State of Jammu and Kashmir for 5 years over two tenures and as the Additional Advocate General for the State of Madhya Pradesh.  

VIVEK PAUL ORIEL 

Vivek Oriel is an Independent Lawyer. He assists Senior Counsels, regularly files, and appears before the Supreme Court of India, the Delhi High Court, Tribunals and District Courts in matters involving Administrative Law and Commercial Arbitration, Insolvency, and Regulatory Issues. KUMAR SHANU 

Kumar Shanu is an advocate at the Patna High Court and is a co-founder of Whistle for Public Interest (WHIP), an organisation founded in 2015 that works for promoting transparency and accountability in the affairs of public authorities in India. A well-known RTI Activist, he successfully fought against educational boards like CBSE for the rights of students to access their evaluated answer sheets, and for the admissions of underprivileged children into private schools in Delhi. He has completed his LL.M from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University, U.S.A. 

MALIK FAHDUL HAQ 

Malik Fahdul Haq is an advocate before the Jammu & Kashmir High Court. He pursued his B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow, and LLM from Azim Premji University, Bangalore. He has also worked as a LAMP (Legislative Assistant to Member of Parliament) fellow during 2017-18. Fahd specializes in property law, matrimonial cases, service law, constitutional litigation, etc. 

CHARU MATHUR

Dr. Charu Mathur has been practicing in Delhi since 2000 and is an Advocate-on-Record in the Supreme Court. She started her practice from the chambers of Sh. SN Shelat, former Advocate-General of Gujarat.  She is standing counsel for the Allahabhad High Court before the Supreme Court. She is empanelled with various energy companies, Universities, PSUs and private companies. She is a published author and frequent chapter contributor to various publications. Keeping with times, she has developed e-courses on IBC, GST, RERA, Cheque Bounce, etc. for the e-learning division of Eastern Book Company (SCCOnline), ebclearning.
